Cryotherapy works by using a fine jet of Nitrous Oxide to freeze the area required. This destroys the tissue by freezing the cells, causing the water inside the cell to freeze which this then ruptures the membrane of the cell... Therefore destroying the cell.
The pain is often described as being similar to a stinging nettle on the skin. This may last for a few minutes after the treatment.
